Meeting time has changed, to accommodate another Special LSB Meeting on this date, to address the business of the LSB
Agenda not covered on 8-21-22. Reason: A closed meeting to select possible GM Candidates from a pool of 5, took most of
the time.
The KPFK Personnel Committee just completed the process of interviewing and recommended a finalist list
of 5 possible KPFK Permanent GM-General Manager Candidates. Announcement promos were posted widely. The final list was
sent to the LSB to cast votes for ranking order (in closed session on 8-21-22), after reviewing Resumes and interview
videos. Perhaps further venting of the candidates may be suggested...
The LSB selection then goes to the PNB/ED for
final decision.
Therefore, the KPFK LSB Outreach Committee is inviting you to its monthly meeting Sunday August
28, 22, 4:00 PM (PT). our regular meeting is the last Sunday of the month at 11:30 AM (PT).
The LSB Outreach
Committee has open community membership, welcoming all to participate and volunteer for the community events we must
cover to expand the KPFK signal...
We will Discuss the recent 7-29-22 Virtual Town Hall event, recent Outreach
efforts, update on station issues & start discussion for the next Town Hall for 2022...
This virtual Town once
again was not promoted over the KPFK air waves! This issue must be discussed... The IGM Moe Thomas attended and took
addressed many questions...
The Pacifica Foundation ED-Executive Director Stephanie is currently on medical
leave, but the current IGM-Interim General Manager Moe Thomas may attend. How can we collaborate to move forward with a
common goal...
We must start planing the next 2nd KPFK-LSB Town Hall event for 2022 which should be via a Hybrid
setting by year end.
Per the Pacifica Foundation Bylaws, there must be at least two LSB Outreach Town Halls per
year. This is how KPFK/LSB listens to the listeners...
Once again, non-commercial Radio Station KPFK 90,7 FM
diverse communities will need to collaborate with LSB-Local Station Board's Outreach Committee.
The Outreach
Committee will hear comments from Listeners/Members, then itemize issues to address with the current KPFK IGM Moe Thomas
or ED Stephanie Wells if either can join us on 8-28-22.
We need to coordinate virtual/electronic ideas to spread
KPFK's presence throughout the Station signal area and beyond in 2022 moving forward. We need volunteers on the
ground to help spread the word about KPFK 90.7 FM, a Non-Commercial listener supported radio station since
1959.
Update on Station matters...
Our current financial condition requires immediate strategies to help KPFK
get over this current funk.
Please bring your brainstorming suggestions, to collaborate. We urge you to
volunteer in this important effort.
